As a frequent customer of TPDB, it seems only natural to join together to spotlight some looks, trends and have some fun. We will be posting Everyday Ensembles, hopefully to inspire ideas for your wardrobe. We appreciate TPDB for coming along with us and sharing their expertise and excitement for fashion for all ages.
About The Purple Door Boutique
The TPDB started as small retail shop in the little town of Homer, Ga. and has grown into a large store front located near the Tanger Outlets in Commerce, Ga. But that’s not the only place you can shop TPDB! The web based boutique also boasts a healthy online following of women from around the country who love great design, unique accessories, all at an affordable price point. But that isn’t where the real story begins…
Penny Hill actually started The Purple Door Boutique from the back of her car in 2003. Traveling often to festivals, bringing items to homes and small office parties, Penny began to develop a loyal group of clientele. Her ability to choose great looking items that were affordable but could rival the more expensive fashion in the better known mall stores soon had her outgrowing the weekend “Car Pop Ups.” Armed with the confidence of “We know Fashion”, she took the leap and opened her first small shop.
Fast forward to 2020. The Purple Door Boutique is a female, family owned business. Penny, Lacey and Kelsey are all involved in the day to day business that is TPBD. They declare themselves a very tight knit family, and yes… sometimes it is hard to leave work at work. But that also is part of being an entrepreneur. Always brainstorming, always planning what comes next! These women, along with their very knowledgeable staff, have taken TPDB from a literal trunk to retail success. What a testament to vision, hard work and guts!
