A Few Kitchen Favorites!

Y’all know the kitchen is the heart of the home. Our kitchen is where life happens. It is the central hub of all activity and some of our favorite memories are made and remembered in that kitchen. Just like that comfy pair of jeans or the perfect hoodie that wraps you up just right, some of my touchstones of comfort are the implements that help me create a warm environment for my friends and family.

I believe that China you are keeping locked away should be used. It’s beautiful, you love it, why are you not using it? China for special occasions only? I think anytime you can gather those precious around your table, it is a special occasion. My everyday dinnerware is Maison Versailles Blanc Colette. Do my children use these? No, they are too young for it. But it is our everyday go to. I think it’s just beautiful and it makes me happy.

I cook. I cook everyday. I really wanted an appliance package that would last forever. So the one thing we really splurged on were the Viking appliances. It is pretty much a lifelong commitment to an appliance, and one that I will be able to hopefully pass down to our son or daughter.

A pot is a pot…Unless it’s the most amazing enameled cast iron pot! I said it and I meant it. The little pot is perfection! It’s Le Creuset.

We all have our very special things. The reasons why they are special… sometimes we don’t know. They just are. And for whatever reason, this spice cellar is one of mine. It is as much a part of my kitchen as me. I’m sure y’all have that something special you gravitate to. Funny how things become so sentimental. But that is the nature of the kitchen, it’s heartbeat resonates. We gather there for the good, the bad and the hilarious. It is the center of everything. Food is love y’all.
